We want to hold people accountable for their actions, and we should. But accountability doesn't require permanent exile from the possibility of change. The quote isn't saying consequences don't matter or that past actions vanish. It's saying that no one—absolutely no one—is irredeemable, and no one is beyond reproach. That's both a mercy and a responsibility.
