What's tricky is that living like everything's a miracle doesn't mean being naive or grateful 24/7. It means noticing the genuinely strange fact that you exist at all, that your brain works, that another person chose to care about you. It's not about forcing wonder. It's about the choice to be awake to it. The person who sees their commute as pure drudgery and the person who finds it interesting aren't looking at different commutes—they're just pointed at the world differently. The real tension isn't choosing one way forever. It's recognizing which way you're living right now, and asking yourself if you're sliding into numbness by habit.
