Johann Goethe

~ 1749 - 1832

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a German writer, statesman, and naturalist, born on August 28, 1749. He is best known for his contributions to literature, particularly for his epic poem "Faust," and his novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther," which influenced the Sturm und Drang literary movement. Goethe was also a prominent figure in the Weimar Classicism movement and made significant contributions to various fields, including philosophy and the sciences, until his death on March 22, 1832.

Science arose from poetry… when times change the two can meet again on a higher level as friends.
