Eve Arnold was an American photojournalist born on April 21, 1912, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is best known for her intimate and candid portraits of celebrities and her documentation of social issues, particularly women's rights and the civil rights movement. Arnold was the first female member of the Magnum Photos agency and received numerous awards for her work throughout her career, which spanned several decades until her passing in 2012.
