Unfair isn't impossible

Life hands out wildly unequal starting positions—that's just observable fact. Some people inherit wealth, good health, or parents who show up. Others inherit nothing but struggle. The trap isn't acknowledging this. The trap is letting that unfairness become your explanation for everything that happens next.

There's a peculiar kind of paralysis that comes from deciding the game is rigged. Sure, some games are rigged. But the moment you accept that as destiny rather than context, you've surrendered the only real power you have: what you actually do with the hand you're dealt. People with every advantage sometimes squander it entirely, while others work from genuine disadvantage and build something meaningful anyway. The difference isn't that one group got luckier. It's that they didn't confuse "unfair" with "impossible."

This isn't about toxic positivity or pretending obstacles don't exist. It's about the specific moment when you could either strategize around a real limitation or sink into resentment about the limitation itself. One keeps you in motion; the other keeps you stuck. Fairness is a nice idea for idealistic moments, but it's not a useful operating system for actual life.
