David A. Bednar is an American religious leader and educator, known for his role as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), a position he has held since 2004. Prior to his calling as an Apostle, he served in various church leadership roles, including as the president of Brigham Young University-Idaho. Bednar is recognized for his emphasis on doctrine, revelation, and personal spirituality, and he has authored several books on religious topics.
