The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is a spiritual leader and the longest-reigning Dalai Lama of Tibet, known for his advocacy of nonviolence and human rights. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his efforts to peacefully resolve the Tibetan conflict with China.
