Paul Tsongas was an American politician and lawyer, born on February 14, 1941, in Lowell, Massachusetts. He served as a U.S. Congressman from 1975 to 1983 and was a Democratic candidate for president in 1992. Tsongas was known for his centrist policies and emphasis on fiscal responsibility, as well as his advocacy for environmental issues and health care reform.
