Coretta Scott King was an American civil rights activist and author, born on April 27, 1927, in Marion, Alabama. She was the wife of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and played a significant role in the civil rights movement, advocating for social justice, gender equality, and nonviolent protest. After her husband's assassination in 1968, she continued his legacy by founding the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta, Georgia.
