B. R. Ambedkar (1891–1956) was an Indian jurist, economist, and social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables (Dalits) in the caste system. He was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and is widely regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution.
